On October 16, 2025, members of the New Brunswick Real Estate Board (NBREB) came together for their REALTORS Care® Day, dedicating their time to supporting Feed NB. Building on the success of their 2024 REALTORS Care® Day, volunteers were once again out in communities across the province to help gather essentials for community members.

In support of: Feed NB

131 REALTOR® volunteers were stationed at grocery stores across Fredericton, Oromocto, Rothesay, Saint John West, Moncton, Woodstock, Campbellton and Miramichi, collecting food and monetary donations to support local food banks. Volunteers collected approximately 3,200 pounds of donated goods such as food and toiletries as well as $2,272 in monetary donations, providing essential resources to  individuals and families facing food insecurity in New Brunswick.

Feed NB plays a critical role in addressing food insecurity by rescuing good food, supporting community kitchens, and supplying food banks and school nutrition programs. Many families who rely on food banks also face challenges related to housing stability. With rising housing costs, a growing percentage of household budgets are being spent on shelter, leaving fewer available funds for food and other essentials. By providing timely access to nutritious food, Feed NB helps support overall household wellbeing. Partnering with Feed NB ensured that experts would help get the donations collected on this REALTORS Care® Day into the hands of organizations on the frontlines of the fight against food insecurity in the communities where they were gathered.

“This year has been such a challenge for so many New Brunswickers, we are extremely grateful for NBREB’s continued support and for helping us build a stronger and healthier community” said Carrie Delaney, Membership, Programs & Services Manager at Feed NB. “Together for a hunger-free tomorrow!”

Feed NB also recovers surplus food from grocery stores, restaurants, and farmers, eliminating waste and ensuring it reaches their community partners.  The organization also runs school breakfast programs and engages in advocacy to address the root causes of food insecurity, working to create a more sustainable, equitable, and nourished province.

Reflecting on the day’s volunteer efforts, Marissa Boone, REALTOR® and salesperson with RE/MAX Hartford Realty, said: “Seeing  REALTORS® across the province come together was such a joy—they stepped up, made social media posts, connected with the public, and put their hearts into collecting donations to help feed our vulnerable populations. It’s amazing to be able to give back to our communities, but seeing that happen with so much passion and on a large scale, with nine different locations participating, adds another layer of gratification.”

The New Brunswick Real Estate Board’s support of Feed NB is one example of how REALTORS® are making a meaningful impact in their communities. This initiative is part of NBREB’s year-round commitment to giving back, which also includes hosting the annual REALTORS Care® golf tournament and auction, raising $35,000 in 2025 for The Courage Centre and Hospice SENB, and sponsoring $4,000 in bursaries for four students across the province.
