About REALTORS Care® Days

The Canadian Real Estate Association (CREA) is partnering with real estate boards and associations to create hands-on volunteering opportunities which highlight our members’ commitment to local housing and shelter-related causes.

REALTORS Care® Days are a series of hands-on volunteering initiatives in support of housing and shelter-related charities taking place across Canada. They are symbolic of the impact REALTORS® make in their communities all year long and are an expression of the shared REALTOR® belief that everyone deserves a safe place to call home.

Hosting a REALTORS Care® Day is a real estate board or association’s opportunity to engage members in volunteerism in support of those who are underhoused, while highlighting the role local REALTORS® play in their community.

REALTORS Care® Days launched in 2024 and it’s building on the momentum the REALTOR® association community created together through REALTORS Care® Week (2019-2022) but with greater flexibility and tailored coverage for each board or association’s local events.

REALTORS Care® Days are a series of hands-on volunteering initiatives in support of housing and shelter-related charities taking place in communities across Canada. They are hosted by real estate boards and associations throughout the year and give REALTORS® the chance to give their time for community members in need. Each REALTORS Care® Day is exclusive, meaning it will be your real estate board or association’s day in the spotlight to highlight the difference REALTORS® in your community are making.

To host a REALTORS Care® Day, your board or association will first need to find a housing or shelter-related charity or community group that your members can support through hands-on volunteerism. From there, you can find an available date and reserve it through our online booking calendar. At this point, the REALTORS Care® team will reach out, confirming your REALTORS Care® Day and pointing you to all of the resources available to support your efforts. One of these will be the REALTORS Care® Days Guidebook, which can walk you through the entire process. The REALTORS Care® team will be there to support you through planning and recruitment and will also ensure you know everything you’ll need to gather to help us highlight your impactful efforts, once your REALTORS Care® Day arrives.

The biggest difference with REALTORS Care® Day is added flexibility and the opportunity to provide more focused coverage and support for participants. Your board or association can host your hands-on volunteering initiative at the best time of the year for you.

CREA’s REALTORS Care® team has provided new and trusted resources in support of your planning efforts. You can expect:

  • A $1,000 bursary for REALTORS Care® Day-related expenses
  • A detailed REALTORS Care® Day Guidebook to support your planning journey, with accompanying tool kits
  • REALTORS Care® Days Roundtable Sessions to connect with fellow board and association staff planning their REALTORS Care® Days and learn from presenters who can support your efforts
  • Social media and email templates to help spread the word and cover your REALTORS Care® Day

In terms of coverage, we will look to opportunities to amplify your activities on social media and highlight your REALTORS Care® Day live on our Instagram, Facebook and X accounts. We’ll also write an article sharing the impact volunteers have made. We understand that your REALTORS Care® Day is just one of the several ways you support your community, and we’ll be sure to include information about the difference your organization and your members make throughout the year. The REALTORS Care® team will also weave REALTORS Care® Days together, creating a national story of unity and collective REALTOR® impact.

We recognize your organization, and your members, are making an impact all year long, but each real estate board and association may only book one REALTORS Care® Day. This is because your REALTORS Care® Day is an expression of your members’ commitment to supporting local housing and shelter-related causes, in lockstep with fellow REALTORS® across the country. It’s symbolic of the impact your members are having in your community throughout the year. This also provides each board or association interested in hosting a REALTORS Care® Day the opportunity to host it at a time optimal for them. While our coverage will focus on the day’s activities, our REALTORS Care® team will be sure to share details about the many ways your organization makes an impact. If your organization covers a larger area, and you’re struggling in deciding on what would make for the optimal REALTORS Care® Day please reach out to REALTORSCare@crea.ca for different strategies, such as rotating your REALTORS Care® Day location each year, or planning volunteering activities in different communities on the same day.

This is a great option to engage more REALTORS®. That being said, while we’ll share the whole story, you should expect social media coverage for one day of the event, in respect of other REALTORS Care® Days. The REALTORS Care® Day bursary would also remain at a flat rate of $1,000.
