London and St. Thomas Association of REALTORS® Lends a Hand to the London Food Bank
The London and St. Thomas Association of REALTORS® (LSTAR) partnered with the London Food Bank on November 29, 2025, to support members of their community experiencing food insecurity.
Fifty-one REALTOR® volunteers participated in the initiative, contributing a total of 408 volunteer hours while stationed at four local grocery stores. In the morning, deployed by the food bank.
The London Food Bank has been a pillar of support in the community since 1986. Serving an average of 5,598 households each month, it supported over 15,500 households in 2024 alone. In addition to distributing food directly to people in need, the organization operates as a central warehouse, working alongside agencies such as the Salvation Army, St. Paul’s Social Services, and church-based programs across the city. Together, these partners reduce pressure on social services while contributing to long-term poverty solutions.
Through their REALTORS Care® Day and as part of the Business Cares Food Drive which supports the London Food Bank, LSTAR members helped raise a total of over 695,000 lbs. of food.
LSTAR REALTORS® also advanced the London Food Bank’s stated mission: “to help a generous community share its food resources.” With the cost of living continuing to rise, food banks remain critical in local communities, offering stability and support for individuals and families facing financial strainAccording to a December 2025 CBC News report, food insecurity in London region has risen above the Ontario average and now affects almost 1 in 3 households.
