REALTORS Care® Days

REALTORS Care® Days are a series of hands-on volunteering initiatives in support of housing and shelter-related charities taking place in communities across Canada. They are hosted by real estate boards and associations throughout the year and give REALTORS® the chance to come together and spend time giving back to their community through hard work.

The biggest difference with REALTORS Care® Days is added flexibility and the opportunity to provide more focused coverage for participants.

Your board or association can host your hands-on volunteering initiative at the best time of the year for you. On top of that, a REALTORS Care® Day is exclusive, meaning it will be your board or associations day in the spotlight to highlight the difference REALTORS® in your community are making.

This change is being made as a result of valuable feedback we gathered from boards and associations earlier this year about their past experiences with REALTORS Care® Week from 2019 through 2022. The change has been designed to provide more flexibility for participating boards and associations so you can organize volunteering events at the most opportune time of year for your organization, your members, and your charity or community group partners.

A benefit of spreading this initiative out over the year is more time to focus on each participating board and association, both in terms of support and coverage. CREA’s REALTORS Care® team will be there to provide new and trusted resources in support of your planning efforts. You can expect:

• • A $1,000 bursary for REALTORS Care® Day-related expenses
  • A detailed REALTORS Care® Day Guidebook to support your planning journey
  • REALTORS Care® Days Roundtable Sessions to connect with fellow board and association staff planning their REALTORS Care® Days
  • Social media and email templates to help spread the word and cover your REALTORS Care® Day

  In terms of coverage, the REALTORS Care® team will weave together a national, year-long story. We will look for opportunities to promote your event in the lead-up, and also share your story on social media and REALTORSCare.ca. We understand that your REALTORS Care® Day is just one of the several ways you support your community, and we’ll be sure to include information about the total impact your organization makes throughout the year.

This is a great option to engage more REALTORS®. That being said, while we’ll share the whole story, you should expect social media coverage for one day of the event, in respect of other REALTORS Care® Days. The REALTORS Care® Day bursary would also remain at a flat rate of $1,000.

For now, we’d like to keep each board or association to one REALTORS Care® Day per year. That being said, we understand that certain boards and associations are in unique situations, such as covering a vast geographic territory, or with very large membership numbers. If you feel your organization has a unique situation that merits discussion, please reach out to REALTORSCare@crea.ca.

CREA’s REALTORS Care® team will work to weave together a national, year-long story through our coverage of each event. At the end of each year, we’ll be sure to set aside some time to reflect on and celebrate the collective impact we’ve made.
